Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Apply

Quanloop is building and running a security-sensitive investment platform. We are hiring a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to strengthen reliability, resilience, and operational performance across our production environment.

This role sits within the Infrastructure Unit and focuses on reducing operational risk, improving service stability, and helping teams run systems in a more predictable way. You will work closely with Infrastructure, Engineering, and Security to improve reliability without creating unnecessary process overhead.

This is an office‑first role based on site in Budapest. We hire locally for the office location.

Role snapshot

  • Working model: Office‑first (on‑site).
  • Hiring basis: Local hiring for the office location in Budapest.
  • Language: English‑first working language.
  • Reporting line: You report to the Head of Infrastructure.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Improve the reliability, resilience, and day-to-day operational stability of production systems.
  • Help define and maintain practical reliability standards, including service health expectations, operational readiness, and incident follow-up discipline.
  • Work with Engineering and Infrastructure to reduce recurring failure points, remove operational friction, and improve recovery paths.
  • Support incident response, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and post-incident follow-up.
  • Contribute to automation and operational improvements that reduce manual intervention and improve consistency.
  • Partner with the Observability Engineer to improve monitoring signals, alert quality, and operational visibility.
  • Work with the DevOps Engineer and Cloud Platform Engineer on production readiness, deployment reliability, and runtime stability.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation around reliability risks, known weaknesses, and operational practices.

What success looks like in the first 3–6 months

  • Production issues are better understood, better documented, and followed through more consistently.
  • Services become more stable through practical improvements in reliability, recovery, and operational readiness.
  • Repeated operational problems are reduced through automation, better controls, or clearer ownership.
  • Collaboration between Infrastructure and Engineering becomes more predictable when reliability concerns are involved.
  • Reliability work is visible and structured, not dependent on ad hoc firefighting.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong experience supporting production systems in an SRE, infrastructure, or operations-focused engineering role.
  • Good understanding of reliability engineering principles, incident management, root-cause analysis, and operational improvement.
  • Experience working with cloud-based environments and production services at meaningful scale.
  • Comfortable working across team boundaries to improve reliability without turning every issue into process overhead.
  • Able to identify weak points in service operations and push practical improvements through to completion.
  • Clear written and spoken communication in English, including documentation discipline.
  • Comfortable working on site as part of an office-first team.
