Legal at Quanloop exists to keep the business moving without losing control of risk, commitments, or regulatory expectations. As Legal Counsel (Commercial & Regulatory), you’ll draft and negotiate the agreements that underpin how we operate (clients, suppliers, partners), and you’ll support regulatory and governance topics in a way that is clear, documented, and workable in practice.
You’ll work closely with Compliance, Operations, Engineering/Infrastructure and senior management, and you’ll be expected to bring structure: consistent positions, usable templates, and timely escalations where a decision is genuinely needed.
Job Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements across the business (including client, supplier and partner contracts), keeping positions consistent and operationally workable.
- Maintain and improve core contract templates, playbooks and clause libraries so teams can move faster without eroding standards.
- Support regulatory legal topics in coordination with Compliance (e.g., structuring, governance decisions, regulatory correspondence support where appropriate).
- Advise on outsourcing and third-party arrangements from a legal perspective, including supporting contract changes linked to operational resilience and oversight expectations.
- Review and support client-facing terms and disclosures, ensuring consistency across documentation and actual operating practices.
- Provide legal input into policy and governance documents where legal review is required (clear approvals, clear versioning, clear rationale).
- Keep a clean audit trail of legal decisions, approvals and contract deviations, and ensure escalations happen early rather than late.
- Partner closely with Operations, Infrastructure/Engineering and Compliance to resolve issues pragmatically (protecting the firm without creating legal bottlenecks).
What good looks like in the first 3–6 months
- Contracting is more predictable: templates are usable, negotiation positions are consistent, and escalations are clear.
- Regulatory and governance topics are handled with better structure (clear decisions, documented rationale, fewer last-minute fire drills).
- At least one area of recurring friction (e.g., vendor contracting, outsourcing clauses, client terms, approval workflow) is improved in a way that reduces cycle time without weakening standards.

Other skills
