Quanloop is building and running a security-sensitive investment platform. We are hiring a FinOps Analyst in Budapest to improve visibility, discipline, and decision-making around cloud usage and spend across our production environment.
This role sits within the Infrastructure Unit and focuses on cost analysis, allocation, reporting, and optimisation across the cloud estate. You will work closely with the Head of Infrastructure, Cloud Platform Engineer, Engineering, and Finance stakeholders to help ensure cloud resources are used in a controlled, explainable, and efficient way.
Role snapshot
- Working model: Office-first (on-site).
- Hiring basis: Local hiring for the Budapest office location.
- Language: English-first working language.
- Reporting line: You report to the Head of Infrastructure.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Monitor and analyse cloud usage and spend across the production environment.
- Help improve cost visibility by identifying where cloud spend sits, how it is changing, and what is driving it.
- Support cost allocation, forecasting, and reporting so infrastructure spend can be understood more clearly across teams and services.
- Identify inefficiencies, avoidable waste, or unclear usage patterns, and work with technical stakeholders to improve them.
- Contribute to practical cost optimisation efforts without undermining reliability, supportability, or security requirements.
- Work with Infrastructure, Engineering, and Finance stakeholders to improve cloud cost discipline and accountability over time.
- Help maintain clear reporting and documentation around spend patterns, allocation logic, and optimisation follow-up.
- Support more structured decision-making where infrastructure changes have meaningful cost implications.
What success looks like in the first 3–6 months
- Cloud spend becomes more visible, easier to explain, and better understood across the relevant teams.
- Cost drivers and inefficiencies are identified more consistently and followed up in a structured way.
- Reporting improves, giving Infrastructure leadership better visibility into usage trends, allocation, and optimisation opportunities.
- Technical teams have clearer input when making decisions that affect cloud cost.
- FinOps work becomes practical and useful rather than occasional or purely retrospective.
What we’re looking for
- Experience in FinOps, cloud cost analysis, infrastructure reporting, or a similar analytical role linked to cloud environments.
- Good understanding of how cloud usage translates into spend across services, environments, and teams.
- Comfortable working with data, reporting, and cost analysis in a way that supports practical technical decision-making.
- Able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders without losing clarity or precision.
- Good judgement in balancing cost efficiency with reliability, operational needs, and business reality.
- Clear written and spoken English, including the ability to present analysis and findings in a straightforward way.
- Comfortable working on site as part of an office-first team.
