Quanloop is building and running a security-sensitive investment platform. We are hiring a Cloud Network Engineer in Budapest to support the design, operation, and ongoing improvement of networking across our cloud environment.
This role sits within the Infrastructure Unit and focuses on connectivity, traffic flow, network security controls, and operational reliability across production systems. You will work closely with the Head of Infrastructure, Cloud Platform Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, and Security colleagues to ensure the network layer remains stable, well-structured, and supportable as the platform develops.
Role snapshot
- Working model: Office-first (on-site).
- Hiring basis: Local hiring for the Budapest office location.
- Language: English-first working language.
- Reporting line: You report to the Head of Infrastructure.
- Operational support: Occasional after-hours support may be required when network-related incidents or changes need follow-up.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Design, implement, and maintain networking across cloud environments, including connectivity, routing, segmentation, and traffic control.
- Support the stability and supportability of production networking, including load balancing, ingress, egress, DNS, and firewall-related configurations.
- Work with Infrastructure and Engineering teams to ensure services are deployed with appropriate network design and operational considerations.
- Help maintain secure and practical network patterns that align with platform and security requirements.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of network-related incidents, performance issues, and service connectivity problems.
- Contribute to infrastructure changes where networking affects resilience, service behaviour, or operational risk.
- Work with Security colleagues on network-related controls, access boundaries, and implementation of technical safeguards where required.
- Maintain clear technical documentation for network architecture, key dependencies, and operational procedures.
What success looks like in the first 3–6 months
- The cloud networking environment becomes easier to understand, support, and change safely.
- Repeated connectivity or configuration issues are reduced through better structure, clearer standards, or operational follow-up.
- Network-related risks and dependencies are better documented and easier for other technical teams to work with.
- Infrastructure and Engineering teams have more confidence in how network changes are introduced and supported.
- Network design decisions become more consistent and less dependent on one-off fixes.
What we’re looking for
- Strong experience in cloud networking, infrastructure engineering, or network-focused platform operations.
- Hands-on understanding of routing, segmentation, firewalls, load balancing, DNS, and service connectivity in cloud environments.
- Experience supporting production systems where reliability, security, and operational clarity matter.
- Comfortable troubleshooting network issues across infrastructure and application contexts.
- Able to work practically with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams without overcomplicating delivery.
- Good written and spoken English, including the ability to document technical decisions and operational setups clearly.
- Comfortable working on site as part of an office-first team.
